A Choice
John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son , that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
There was a father and his son, the father was a bridge master. He is in charged of the controls for the rails that form the train’s pathway.
His son was playing and he dropped something on the rails without knowing that there was a train coming. The train has a lot of passengers, and they are all different with each other, they have their own personalities, character, worries, doubts, fears and troubles.
If the father won’t move the rails, the train would meet an accident which will cause the death of too many lives but if he move the rail and the train will pass, his son, his only son will be the one who will die. He needs to make a choice, his only beloved son or the people in the train.
He had made his choice. He saved the people inside the train and chose to sacrifice the life of his son. He suffered in anguish and pain. His son, whom he loves so much, was dead because he chose to save a lot of people.
Just like God. We are all sinners and no one is exempted (Romans 3:23, For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.) We are all destined to hell but God is so merciful, he never allowed it. He sacrificed his only begotten Son to save us from all our sins. He sent Jesus Christ as a sacrifice because he loves us.
God became human and was born on earth as Jesus Christ and that’s what we call Christmas. It is His free gift for us, salvation and eternal life.
God has a wonderful plan for that father’s life; He has a perfect will for him.
